Let’s explore predictions for the future of sewing machines based on current technology. In 2024, Apple released it’s first VR headset.
Technology….
The VR headset allows users to make gestures and eye movements to select items. Also, you can speak directly to Siri for a 100% immersive virtual experience. The technology interacts with the end consumer eliminating the need for a keyboard, mouse, screen, stylist, or controller. While VR headsets are cumbersome and not cool in 2024, the technology will continue to blossom.
In the future…
Gestures and eye movements could become a part of the future of sewing machines. According to the VR headset integration theory, massive sewing machine screens will be replaced by a projection onto the wall. Then, users will select sewing machine menu options with eye movements and/or gestures. It sounds wild. But, the Apple VR headset shows this theory isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
Likewise, current sewing machine technology shows an immersive sewing experience is possible. For example, Pfaff Creative Icon 2 released in 2023 with speech recognition. Also, we’ve seen lots of advancements in artificial intelligence on industrial sewing machines. For example, the Vetron 5656 automatically sews seams.
