In fall of 2026, Babylock released a serger called Babylock Serenity. Within this article, we will speak at length about the model so you can decide whether or not it is the correct machine for you.
Premium Features
Baby Serenity has a number of premium features. However, it is hard for many to understand the benefits of each features without discussing it in depth. First off, this model has a speed of 1500. This speed was also present in prior models. Now, however, speed control has been added. Speed control allows users to slow the machine down without having to fully control speed via foot control.
In addition to speed control, Babylock has added needle up/down. This allows for users to program the serger to stop with the needle up or down. This is especially useful because you can set the needle to finish down when you would like to turn corners or for up when you want to remove fabric from underneath the presser foot.
You’ve got extra clearance of 6mm underneath the presser foot. Plus, there is a knee lift for removing fabric from under the presser foot without taking hands off a project. All of these features reduce the amount of time it takes to complete a tasks.

As with prior high end sergers, Serenity has air threading for the lower loops. This reduces the amount of time it takes to thread your serger. In addition, there is automatic needle threading for the upper threads as well. Both upper and lower looper threading features make threading the serger an easy tasks.
Likewise, Babylock Serenity features ATD (Automatic thread delivery) for automatically adjusting thread tension. This feature means you can go from sewing a thin fabric project to working with denim without spending 30 minutes adjusting upper tension. Like many other sergers, the Serenity includes the wave stitch. This specialty stitch is wonderful for adding some extra pizzaz to projects.

This model comes with a trim bin and a small overlock table that gives you an ability to use a wide variety of presser feet (sold separately).
What makes Serenity special?
Unlike other sergers, Babylock Serenity comes with a new features that allows users to place a needle into the machine horizontally. Once placed, there is a metal piece that snaps closed to put the needle in a vertical position for sewing.
