All the regular stuff about this sewing and embroidery machine.

- A straight stitch needle plate for regular sewing
- USB port for uploading embroidery designs
What makes Berentte B59 stand out?
The maximum hoop size for B59 is 11.8x 4.7in. But at the time of writing this article, competitors like Brother only offer a maximum embroidery hoop size of 5x7inches on machines within this price range.
5×7 machine users are limited to stitching on baby onesies and other smaller items. But, 11.8inches of length is enough space to embroider a line of text on a large t-shirt. Without this extra space, one would have to stitch out half the text and re-hoop the design to stitch the other half. Stitching in multiple hoopings, can be done. But, it takes a lot of time because you have to work hard to get everything lined up properly.

What’s the catch?
The #1 downside to this machine is its maximum speed. The max sewing speed is 800. While 800 spm is good for beginners, its not ideal for intermediate level sewing.
In addition to being slow on the sewing side, B59 is slow to embroider. The maximum speed is 600spm, which is medium speed on a commercial embroidery machine. The speed of 600 is fine because it allows you to stop an embroidery job in time when the machine malfunctions. However, 600spm isn’t sufficient for commercial use because less daily project completion equals less pay.
It wasn’t designed for that anyway.
The manual says Bernette B59 was designed for personal use only. With this in mind, B59 is still a good option for an embroidery business startup. It’s good because built in embroidery designs and fonts can be used for commercial use. In addition to including a wide variety of built in designs and fonts, B59 has an app for creating embroidery designs. This app means startups can make minimalistic designs of their own without needing to purchase embroidery software right away.
