It was once common to see buttons on all of our electronics. But in the early 2000’s, Steve Jobs popularized touch screens. Since then, everything from cars to sewing machines have included screens.
Touchscreens give devices a sleek look and are cheaper to manufacture than buttons. However, they also force users to take their eyes off what they are doing in order to select menu options.
Over the past few years, customers have grown increasingly annoyed by touchscreens for their lack of tactile feedback. People are demanding buttons. But, would it be beneficial for them to return to the home sewing machine?
