Michaels has acquired Joann intellectual property, now what?

What the reports say about Michaels

The company is rumored to start carrying Brother & Singer sewing machines, Oliso Smart Irons, Pellon stabilizer, and Pellon batting. In yarn, they are supposed to start carrying 60 loops & threads offerings, Big Twist yarn, and amigurumi kits.

But, where will all this stuff fit in side the store?

Many former Joann customers are hopeful Michaels will begin carrying more yarn as Joann once did. They are also hopeful the chain will begin carrying bolts of fabric too. But, this move would required them to do a lot of rearranging.

The Past

In 2016, the brand acquired Hancock fabrics intellectual property and database of 10 million customers. But, this move didn’t cause the company to start carrying fabric inside of their brick and mortar stores. Instead, they offered the fabric online. Since the Hancock acquisition didn’t cause them to start carrying fabric in store, many are skeptical about Joann products being offered in person.
