The overwhelming majority of sewing supplies and notions are made overseas. But, many Americans believe manufacturing needs to return to the United States. Unfortunately, Americans disagree about the proper method for bringing the manufacturing back.
One proposed method is to impose tariffs, which would charge manufacturers a fee for doing business in the USA. Some believe it would discourage outsourcing and encourage manufacturers to produce goods on American soil.
